INTAN JAYA - Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, are making impactful strides in fostering community welfare in Papua Tengah Province. On Saturday, 25 January 2025, the 509 Task Forces, led by First Lieutenant Wanianto from the Holomama Post, conducted a heartwarming “ROSITA” (Buy Up Farming Products) activity during their areal security patrol in Yokatapa Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency.
The Commander of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, underscored the importance of helping residents overcome daily challenges as a key priority alongside maintaining security. In alignment with this directive, the Soldiers utilized their patrol duties to contribute to the residents' economic growth by purchasing their farming products directly from the Yokatapa Market.
Through the ROSITA activity, the Soldiers not only safeguarded the area but also engaged deeply with the community. Using their own personal funds, they bought various farming products, which they then used to support their daily food needs. This act of solidarity and sacrifice displayed the Soldiers’ dedication to uplifting the local economy. The sellers were visibly overjoyed, with one resident, Mrs. Rani Japugau, expressing her gratitude by saying, “Thank you, Commander 509. God bless.”
HABEMA Commanding General, Major General Lucky Avianto, lauded the initiative, stating, “The 509 Task Forces' commitment to buying local farming products reflects TNI's unwavering support for the people's economy and aligns with our mission to accelerate development in Papua.”
This recognition highlights the broader impact of such grassroots initiatives, where the synergy between the Task Forces and the community fosters economic empowerment, hope, and optimism for the region’s future. The ROSITA program serves as a powerful example of how military operations can integrate with local needs to achieve meaningful progress.
